Still There!

These beetles are fast, and, according to one field guide, "fierce predators."  I found it under the same piece of bark where it's been hiding out for over a week.  This time I got a photo when it stopped for just a moment.  My sharpest shot yet.  Definitely in the Family Carabidae, but not sure of the species.  Often called stink bugs, as are many other species of unrelated insects, but I like the odor.  Sort of a sweet cyanide.
