Microclimate

 In the spirit of my Wednesday post "Never Give Up," here are a couple of photos of Asters that are still blooming along the paved path from the parking lot to the main campus at FRC.
 There's a stretch near the top of the path that gets early morning sun, and whenever I pass through this stretch it seems at least five degrees warmer than the lower part of the path that remains in the shade.
 Several of the Asters nearby have gone to seed, but still look handsome in their own way.
 Then, in the ditch in front of my parked car, there are some thistles that look stately while gone to seed.
