They're Back!!!

On the California Black Oak (Quercus kelloggii)along my driveway, the seasonal arrival of the
Oak Treehoppers (Platycotus vittata) is underway.  A few clusters of these cute little bugs have appeared on just two branches of the 30 or so I inspected.  Over the next few weeks, thousands more will appear, and I will try to improve my photo archive and share more of their natural history.  Click on the photos for closer views.  I wonder fi that white one is an albino, or just a stage I haven't noticed before.
